Meet UCHS Football Head Coach Ryan Price

Coach Ryan Price joined the UCHS Football Staff in 2013 and spent two seasons as Co-Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Line Coach, and Tight Ends Coach on the Varsity Coaching Staff. In 2015, Coach Price was selected as the new Head Football Coach and went on to lead UC Football to a 6–1 start and the #2 seed in Division IV Playoffs, finishing with an appearance in the CIF Semifinals for the first time in school history and the best record in 23 years at 9–3. Due to the hard work and accomplishments of the Team and Coaching Staff, Coach Price was selected as KUSI Prep Pigskin Report – San Diego Chargers Coach of the Week. Coach Price, his staff, and the players were also selected as 1 of 4 teams in San Diego County to be recognized by Super Bowl Champion Coach Jon Gruden at his FFCA Event sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods.

Coach Price is entering his 3rd season as Head Football Coach with a 15–9 career record; the best winning percentage at UCHS in 24 years. In his first two seasons as Head Football Coach, UC Football had players selected as ALL CIF, League Defensive Player of the Year, HSSA Scholar Athlete of the Year, Alex Spanos All Star, First and Second Team All League, KUSI PPR Student Athlete of the Week, Union Tribune Athlete of the Week,  Mighty 1090 Athlete of the Week, Union Tribune Scholar Athlete, UCHS Male Athlete of the Year, and UCHS Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Coach Price was born and raised in the Bay Area and moved to Colorado with his family just before High School. Coach Price played 5A football at Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, CO under legendary Coach Mike Sirko, who is ranked 6th all-time in the State with over 230 wins. At the age of 19, Coach Price joined the Navy and served four years while stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After a highly decorated and successful term in the Navy, Coach Price moved back to California and began his career as a Systems Engineer. Coach Price supported the Navy for 10 years as a contractor while rapidly advancing in his career, and now works for the Navy as a Project Manager.

Coach Price takes pride in being a players coach and has played a significant role in the development of student-athletes at UCHS. He has helped motivate and guide his players in their academic achievements and success on the football field, which has resulted in various offers for academic and football scholarships. Coach Price's philosophy is to build a successful football program and culture by developing his athletes as football players and students, but most importantly, molding them into great teammates and exceptional young adults through leadership, accountability, and positive reinforcement.

"I am grateful and honored to lead the football program at UCHS, and I look forward to working with the students, parents, administration, and community as we continue building the success of our football program. Its a great time to be a Centurion! UC U KNOW!!" - Coach Price
